A$AP Rocky reveals Rihanna is 'cooking' new music
Are we finally getting new music from Rihanna after 10 years?
In his guest appearance on The Jason Lee Show, Rihanna's partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, revealed that she is "cooking" up new music. During the interview, the host asked him, "Are you the reason why we don’t have an album?” referencing a long-running fan joke that Rihanna's relationship with Rocky, their three children, and her business ventures were behind the delay in new music.
“Nah,” Rocky said. “She in the studio right now. Yeah, I said it. Sorry, babe.”
“Bro, she working. She cooking, no funny s**t. Damn, I’mma get in trouble for this," the Goldie rapper added.
This came 10 years after Rihanna released her last album, ANTI, in 2016, which included hit tracks Work, Love on the Brain, Needed Me, and Kiss It Better.
In 2023, she expressed that she wanted to release a new album. That same year, it was reported that the pop superstar is planning her much-awaited comeback—which includes a world tour as well as two albums—under a million-dollar contract with Live Nation.
Although the Barbadian hasn't released a full-length album in nearly a decade, she has remained in the spotlight. She took the stage for the 2023 Apple Music Super Bowl LVII halftime show, where she performed her biggest hits and revealed she was pregnant with her second child with Rocky.
Rihanna has also given glimpses of her musical side through Friend of Mine for The Smurfs (2025) and Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
Aside from music, she has grown her empire with Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty while embracing motherhood.
Rihanna and Rocky share three children: sons RZA (2022) and Riot (2023), and daughter Rocki (2025).
