From air base to thriving hub

Clark, situated in Central Luzon, has undergone significant transformations over the years. Once an air base, a strategic stronghold for Philippine and American forces during World War II and a key logistical support hub during the Vietnam War, the base used to be one of the largest American overseas military facilities. During the 90s, it boasted a bustling community with various amenities, including shopping centers, cafes, a hotel, and recreational facilities.

Following the departure of American forces in 1991 due to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo, Clark Air Base underwent a remarkable transformation, housing both Clark International Airport and Clark Freeport Zone.

It has since become a thriving hub of economic activity. Its strategic location and modern infrastructure have facilitated trade and commerce, leading to substantial growth in both industrial and tourism sectors. Today, Clark offers its expansive and open spaces to the public for outdoor events, sports, and leisure activities.
