Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded Palm Grill's dishes will soon reach more Filipino palates.

The restaurant, headed by chef Miggy Cabel Moreno, is bringing its Southern Mindanaoan cuisine to more parts of the country through 7-Eleven's new Chef Creations line.

Four of Palm Grill's ZambaSulta dishes will be available soon at select convenience stores: Chicken Pianggang, Beef Kurma, Belachan Chicken, and Sambal Istah.

Chicken Pianggang, a must-try if you ever dine at Palm Grill, is a grilled chicken braised in coconut milk, spices, and pamapa itum, a traditional Tausug spice rub made from burnt coconut.

On the other hand, Beef Kurma is a Tausug take on a curry. The beef is simmered in coconut milk, peanut butter, and other spices like star anise and bay leaf.

Another ZambaSulta dish you'll find on the shelves is Belachan Chicken, a sweet and tangy dish that is marinated in turmeric, lemon juice, and smothered in belachan sauce (a variety of shrimp paste commonly used in Indonesian cooking).

Those looking for something with a bit of a kick can try the Sambal Istah, a fried fish topped with sambal sauce, which is made with chili peppers.

During the launch attended by PhilSTAR L!fe, Chef Miggy shared why this collaboration means so much to him.

"I told myself one day I would like to be able to share those experiences and those stories through food because I've always said that food brings people together," he said.

"When you step onto the island of Mindanao, that's when Filipino cuisine actually takes a 180-degree turn. [The] cuisines we're familiar with in Luzon and Visayas, the flavor profiles are almost the same," the chef continued, adding that Tausug cuisine is distinct because of the influences of Southeast Asian countries.

For Chef Miggy, Filipinos can take pride in cuisine beyond staples like adobo, sinigang, afritada, and lechon.

"When we dive into deeper regional cuisines, we can also be proud to say that in the Philippines, in our own country, we can have specialties that are similar to Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, even Thailand—and it's all in the context of one beautiful country, which is the Philippines," he said.

"If we don't discover our own, if we don't love our own, no one else will do it for us. So I guess that's one of the reasons why we're doing what we're doing continuously up to today."

Palm Grill's menu includes authentic southern Mindanao dishes like Tiyula Itum, Dulang, Satti, Beef Piassak, Kaliya Puso, Curacha, Amor Del Mar, among others.

The 7-Eleven meals will be like an introduction to the ZambaSulta restaurant. Chef Miggy hopes that when people get to try the Chef Creations line, they'll want to come to the restaurant to explore the menu further.

"In Palm Grill, you get to have the full experience of how it's being served. You get to have the full experience, because at the restaurant, even the music is curated for your liking, and it's representative of the culture and people where it comes from," he said.

The Chef Creations x Palm Grill meals start at P149 and will be available at select Luzon stores starting Oct. 30. It's also hitting shops in Mindanao soon.

Chef Miggy is the founder of Palm Grill, which has branches in Tomas Morato, Gateway, and NAIA Terminal 3, and a co-founder of Cabel Filipino Heritage restaurant.

Both were awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026.
