Things are still going smoothly between Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano!

Enrique gave an update about their relationship as he made a guest appearance in a recent episode of Magandang Buhay. During his segment, he was asked by host Regine Velasquez on whether he was ready and looking for love, to which he answered that he is contented with the way things are with Liza.

"I'm happy. I'm at peace. I'm focusing on this. Liza is also focusing on her own production company, on her own projects, so I'm just really happy that we're both focused on ourselves first because we were so caught up on the two of us so much," he said.

"Parang we talked na it's also really good for us to go on our own path in our career, just to be able to grow. It's really exciting for me right now what we're going to be doing and giving to the industry," he added.

Enrique took a three-year break from the limelight following his romantic comedy series Make It with You back in 2020. When asked about his realizations during this period, he opened up about his thoughts on starting a family.

"My dream was to always have a family and settle down, but one thing I also enjoyed was the private life that I had during those three years na tahimik lang," he said.

"One thing that my mom [and I] planned was to move to Tagaytay, so we bought this little nice farmland na we can go there, my mom can farm, and we can live sustainably. Ganun, parang naging plantito ako," he added.

The local star has now returned to showbiz with his new sex comedy film I Am Not Big Bird, which he stars with Pepe Herrera, Nikko Natividad, and Red Ollero.

During an advanced screening of the movie on Feb. 13, Liza was unable to attend the event, but Enrique assured that he is not at all disappointed by this.

"It’s fine! I’m gonna have another screening with her. I know she’s really busy," he said during an interview with entertainment reporter MJ Felipe.

His comeback movie comes a week after Liza's debut Hollywood film Lisa Frankenstein premiered in the Philippines last Feb. 7. During the premiere night, Enrique was a proud boyfriend to his longtime partner as he talked about how he would always support her in her projects.

"I've always been a supporter since day one. Sabi ko talaga, 'til the day I die, I will always support her," Enrique told reporters.

The LizQuen loveteam debuted in the teleserye Forevermore in 2014. Liza and Enrique were in a relationship for the past eight years, though they only went public about their status in 2019.
