Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne becomes 4th child to officially drop Pitt from last name
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne has officially dropped her father’s surname, becoming the fourth of the former couple’s six children to legally remove “Pitt” from their last name.
A California judge approved the 18-year-old’s petition during a hearing on Monday, Nov. 2, changing her legal name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, according to court documents obtained by People.
The petition was granted without any objections. Vivienne initially filed the request in July, shortly after celebrating her 18th birthday. The reason for the name change, Us Weekly reported, was listed as “personal.”
The move follows Vivienne’s earlier decision to use her mother’s surname professionally. In May 2024, she was credited as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for the Broadway production of The Outsiders, which she helped produce alongside Angelina.
Her older sister Shiloh was the first to drop their father's surname in 2024. This was followed by their older brother Maddox and Zahara, both in September this year.
Jolie and Pitt share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.

Jolie and Pitt first met while working together on the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Their relationship became public in 2005, and they eventually married in a private ceremony in France in August 2014.
The couple fell apart in September 2016 when Jolie accused Pitt of raping her during a plane trip from France to Los Angeles and claimed that he "physically and verbally" assaulted her and their kids.
They were ruled legally single in 2019.
