Angelina Jolie reveals she hasn't been in a relationship since her split from Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie admitted that she had stayed single since divorcing her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.
Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, the actress confessed, “I haven't dated or been with anyone since I divorced a decade ago, right? So I kind of get in my head that that aspect of me is not centered in my life if I'm focusing on my children and my family.”
Playing her character in Couture prompted Jolie to rethink her perspective on romantic relationships.
“So it took me a second to say, ‘Look, she can also love her daughter and be dedicated to her daughter and also need this as a woman and receive this as a woman.' And that, in fact, it might be very healing for her,” she said.
“Life has broken me a little. I have to live again. Be free again," she added.
Jolie noted that her three daughters, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and Vivienne, 17, also helped her get a move on in life.
“They speak to me as young women, and I see what I want for them. I see what I don't want them to lose and what I want them to hold on to. And in a way, this is reminding me of what I might have lost myself," she said.
In Couture, Jolie plays Maxine Walker, a filmmaker who finds romance in Paris while battling breast cancer.
Jolie and Pitt, who was married to Jennifer Aniston, met in 2003 on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. After Pitt and Aniston's split, the Fight Club star and Jolie confirmed they were expecting a child together in 2006. "Brangelina" tied the knot in 2014 in an intimate wedding, and later Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.
Nearly a decade after their split, Jolie has largely devoted her time to raising their six children—Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne—while taking on only a handful of acting projects.
Pitt, meanwhile, has been in a relationship with girlfriend Ines de Ramon since 2022.
The former celebrity couple is still caught in a legal battle over French winery Château Miraval.
