'Ang Dating Daan' founder Bro. Eli Soriano passes away at 73

Ang Dating Daan's Bro. Eli Soriano has passed away at the age of 73, Members Church of God International, Inc. announced Friday morning.

The religious radio and television program released a statement on the televangelist's death on Friday morning, however, they did not state the cause of his demise.

 “It is with deep sadness, yet with full faith in the Almighty, that we announce the passing of our beloved and one and only Bro. Eliseo ‘Eli’ Soriano—a faithful preacher, brother, father, and grandfather to many,” they wrote in a statement.

Soriano was the lead Christian preacher of the group Members Church of God International, and was known for hosting its religious radio and television program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path), which currently airs in 73 countries.

He became known for using biblical expositions under the Itanong Mo Kay Soriano program, where guests were given a chance to ask questions.

He was also known for revealing doctrinal errors of various religious groups and debating with different pastors.

Members Church of God International, Inc. has assured the public that it will continue the projects and programs initiated by Soriano, saying "While his temporary repose is a loss to many, We in the Members Church of God International, Inc., would like to assure the public that the programs and projects initiated by Bro. Eli will continue."
