Finland is giving away a free trip to 16 singles—here's how you can apply
Single and ready to mingle? You might meet "The One" on an all-expenses-paid blind dinner date in Finland.
Visit Finland, the Nordic nation's tourism board, has initiated Finnish Dinner Date, an adventure for 16 single people that culminates in a group dinner in either the Helsinki region or Lakeland.
"This February, the world's happiest country is inviting singles on an unforgettable culinary adventure where pure nature, authentic flavors, and meaningful connections come together," the tourism board wrote on its website.
The trip will take place between Feb. 9 and 19, 2027. Eight singles will experience Helsinki cuisine, while the other eight will taste the culinary traditions of Tampere in the Lakeland region. Each of the dinners will be done as a group date, so there is less pressure.
If you are at least 18 years old, single, and are free to date and meet someone new, you may apply to take part in this epic blind dinner date where you will be mingling with equally adventurous travelers.
The call for applications is open to all regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

1. Create a video application in English and answer this question: What would you serve on a dinner date, and why?
Make sure your video reflects who you are, as the organizers want to get to know the real you. Creativity is encouraged. Judging will be based on the amount of effort to answer the application question, content creativity and authenticity, and the uniqueness of the video. If you have to use AI, limit it to backgrounds and illustrations so the focus is on real footage of yourself.
Post the video on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube with #FinnishDinnerDate and tag @ourfinland on Instagram, @visitfinland.com on TikTok, or @VisitFinland on YouTube.
Remember to make your Instagram or TikTok profiles public if you're posting on either of those platforms. If you are uploading it on YouTube, make the post public. If you want only Visit Finland officials to see your application video, upload it as unlisted.
2. Fill out the online application form here. Make sure to include the link to your social media video. You are allowed to submit only one application.
The application window closes on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11:59 a.m. Finnish time (5:59 p.m. on the same day, Philippine time). Applications submitted after this time will not be considered.
3. Wait to be notified.
If you are selected to be one of the lucky 16, Visit Finland will contact you directly. The public announcement of all the selected singles will be made on Dec. 1 via Visit Finland's Instagram and TikTok channels.
Other details to keep in mind
While Visit Finland will cover your travel, food, and accommodation expenses throughout your stay, you will receive no separate compensation for participating in the Finnish Dinner Date.
For the four days you will be there, you will have your own private room in accommodations that offer all the essential facilities.
It is up to the tourism board to assign the selected participants to the Helsinki or Tampere experience.
They are expecting applications from singles all over the world, which will help them form a diverse group of individuals from different age groups who come with a wide range of life stories and palettes.
