Pinoy pride!

Dolly de Leon has received a Golden Globe nomination for her brilliant performance in Ruben Östlund’s Palme d’Or-winning black satire Triangle of Sadness

The talented Pinay got a nod in the “Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture” category, where she’s up against Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere All At Once), and Carey Mulligan (She Said)

Triangle of Sadness is also in the race for “Best Picture – Musical/Comedy” alongside Babylon (Paramount Pictures), The Banshees of Inisherin (Searchlight Pictures), Everything Everywhere All At Once (A24), and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (Netflix).

The winners for the 80th edition of the prestigious awards ceremony are set to be announced in January 2023.

In the film, Dolly portrays toilet manager Abigail who suddenly takes charge of uberwealthy luxury cruise ship passengers after their ride capsizes and leaves them stranded on an island.

Aside from the Golden Globes, she’s also nominated for “Best Actress in a Supporting Role” at the Satellite Awards 2022.

On Monday, Dec. 12, Dolly bagged the award for “Best Supporting Performance” at this year’s Los Angeles Film Critics Awards for the same film, alongside Vietnam-born American actor Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All At Once). “It’s an honor and privilege to be recognized by critics who think outside the box and recognize the artistry of filmmaking,” she said, referring to her recent feat.

“I’m proud to represent every individual who is struggling in their chosen industry—much like Abigail. Every single soul who’s watched the film would know what I’m talking about,” added Dolly.
