BINI Aiah surprised with a puppy from fan: ‘Didn’t expect I’d be a dog mom so soon’

Celebrities with a dedicated fanbase may sometimes receive gifts from their fans and these may come in the form of artwork or little trinkets. BINI member Aiah Arceta received a more out-of-the-box gift from a fan: a puppy.

The girl group member recently shared on her Instagram story that someone surprised her with a dog after an event at the MOA Music Hall.

"Didn't expect I'd be a dog mom soon but Christmas came early," she wrote.

In her posts, Aiah can be seen playing around with the pup, capturing random photos, and even asking her fans to guess the pooch's name.

The fan who gave the dog told The Philippine STAR that she came up with the idea for the gift as she noticed Aiah's fondness for dogs.

Mixed reactions

The adorable gift drew mixed reactions online as users debated whether it is okay to give BINI "live gifts." An X user, for one, noted that there is "nothing wrong with that as long as the "management allows and accepts it."

"What's wrong with that? If the management allows and accepts it I don't see anything wrong about it, they can reject it anytime IG blooms that are giving gifts wouldn't feel bad if maayos naman ang communication," they commented.

Another shared how these gifts might make the BINI members happy.

"Imagine giving gift sa BINI is making them happy, don’t you guys want them to be happy? Anong magagawa niyo kung ganun magpakita ng pagmamahal ang BLOOMs," they said.

Others brought up how others might react differently to receiving a live present like a dog as being a pet owner is a responsibility.

"Just because Aiah is happy with the gift does not mean na 'yung iba rin matutuwa. Aiah might only want one dog for now eh paano kung bigyan siya ulit? Saan pupulitin 'yung other doggies? It's such a risky thing to do lalo na kung 'di sila ready sa responsibility," a user wrote.

"Real. Para kang nagregalo ng responsibilidad. Yes masaya kasi cute yung puppy, thankful kasi gift 'yun e. Alangan magpakita ng disappointment yung artist eh binigyan na nga siya ng gift," another one chided.

BLOOM PH, the "pioneer Philippine fanbase" for the girl group, requested other fans to refrain from giving the girls live gifts as such items "go beyond entertainment."

"Let's be mindful not to put the girls on the spot by giving such gifts at this time, allowing them to concentrate fully on their work and well-being."

BINI is set to have a three-day grand concert on November 16, 17, and 18 at Smart Araneta Coliseum. The additional day for the concert was announced on August 31, after days one and two of concert tickets sold out in just 3 hours.

General ticket selling will start on September 1, 5 p.m. via Ticketnet online and Ticketnet Outlets.

Recently, they accepted Billboard Korea’s Voices of Asia award on Tuesday, Aug. 27, in Seoul, Korea, alongside P-pop icon SB19.
