Donnalyn Bartolome to say goodbye to vlogging: 'We will make it a beautiful ending'
Donnalyn Bartolome is saying goodbye to vlogging as a "gift" to herself.
“I have a gift to myself. My gift to myself involves 10 million of you,” she said near the end of her new video on Tuesday, Dec. 23, titled "The Gift Reverse."
"When I think about who I am and how I’ve always been, I’ve always thought of what would make others happy. I never really asked myself what would make me happy. And even if I did, the answer to that is making others happy. It's still the same," she said.
“There’s no easy way to say this, but I’m saying goodbye to vlogging. That is my gift to myself," she announced as she turned emotional.
"Bits and pieces [of me] are scattered. And I can't paint a full picture with it," she explained, citing a need to be her "authentic self" with the many things she can't share with her supporters.
She then thanked all her fans for giving her support that enabled her to provide for her family and offer opportunities to others.
"And I had the chance to live and survive life. Thank you for your forgiveness, for the times I slipped. And thank you for remembering and celebrating me for the things I did right," she added.
"And I know it's not nice to be bid goodbye to... So I offer you the last 10 vlogs," she announced, allowing her YouTube subscribers to dictate the content of her concluding videos, from choosing a personality to feature to suggesting an activity they would do.
"We will make it a beautiful ending. Okay? Okay," Donnalyn ended, with a final note as the screen turned black, "I'll still be around, just not in the same way I used to be."
In a Facebook post, Donnalyn shared she received numerous private messages, letters, and emails about her announcement.
"I cannot respond to all of them but my only promise is that one day you will understand why," she wrote.
Donnalyn is a Filipina vlogger, actress, and singer-songwriter who has been active on social media since 2008. She has 16 million followers on Facebook, 10.1 million on YouTube, and 7 million on Instagram. She won Best Content Creator at the 2025 Septimius Awards in Amsterdam.
