LOOK: Alethea Ambrosio dons Sampaguita-inspired national costume for Miss Supranational 2024
Alethea Ambrosio is a blooming queen in her national costume for the Miss Supranational 2024 competition.
During the segment, the Bulacan beauty sashayed on the runway in a Sampaguita-inspired dress created by Filipino designer Ehrran Montoya.
Called "Halimuyak," the dress is described by Montoya as a "vibrant fusion of tradition and contemporary flair, inspired by the elegance of the Sampaguita, the Philippines’ national flower."
It features intricate beadwork and textures in shades of white, reminiscent of the delicate petals of the Sampaguita to capture "the purity and grace of the Filipina."
Along with this, it is also embellished with intricate patterns and floral motifs to portray the "essence of Filipino culture and tradition while embracing the spirit of innovation and modernity."
Montoya highlighted that the costume is dedicated to the rich flora of the Philippines and incorporates elements that "evoke the beauty of its tropical landscapes."
Ambrosio's look is capped off by a matching headpiece, lavish earrings, and a sampaguita wreath.
Previously, the beauty queen donned a custom gold armor warrior-inspired fringed gown designed by Larry Espinosa during the preliminary evaluation, evoking the image of a "dignified, elegant Amazon queen."
Althea is making waves at Miss Supranational 2024.
