Alethea Ambrosio has been crowned as the new The Miss Philippines titleholder.
The beauty queen hailing from Bulacan bested 20 other aspirants at the recently concluded The Miss Philippines 2023 pageant held on Oct. 24 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
She was crowned by Pauline Amelinckx, the inaugural titleholder of The Miss Philippines and who was also the first runner-up in the Miss Supranational international competition.

Alethea exudes beauty with a purpose. Throughout her pageant journey, she has been vocal in uplifting the tourism of the Philippines.
In one of her videos for Miss Philippines, she said that it is her vital role as a beauty queen to spread awareness on local tourism.
"Bilang isang reyna, tungkulin kong mapalaganap ang turismo hindi lang dito sa Bulacan kundi sa buong Pilipinas. Dahil tulad ng Bulacan na siksik sa kultura at kasaysayan, ang mga tanawin at pasyalan dito sa Pilipinas ay talaga nga namang kay sarap balik-balikan," she said.

She also explicated it during her final speech in the said pageant to answer the question: "What to you is the true identity of a Filipino, and how do you intend to promote it to the world?"
The Bulakenya beauty queen said: "Para sa akin, tatlo ang sumasagisag sa totoong pagkakakilanlan nating mga Pilipino. Dahil tayo ay isang kapuluan at mayroong iba't ibang etnisidad at lenggwahe. Iisa ang ating wika. Pangalawa, ang ating kulay kayumanggi na sumasalamin sa ating kasipagan tulad ng mga magsasaka, babad man sa araw, at babad man sa tubigan, masipag na nagtatanim at nagiisa. At pangatlo, ang pagmamahal sa bayan. Ang ating pakikipaglaban para sa ating kasarinlan ay iisa."
She continued, "At ang tatlong ito ay aking adbokasiya upang mas mapaunlad ang ating bansa—hindi lamang sa larangan ng turismo, kundi sa larangan ng iba't ibang industriya dito sa ating bansa. Dahil magagampanan natin ito sa pamamagitan sa pagkatok sa Pilipino diaspora, mga komunidad ng 12 milyong Pilipino na binubuo sa iba't ibang sulok ng mundo."
Althea is currently taking up Economics at De La Salle University in Manila.
A Filipina through and through
Indeed, she channeled the pageant's name as she was the sole candidate who used the Filipino language as her medium in answering interview questions, expressing herself in their introductory videos and even answering the final Q&A. Likewise, her fluency in using the language can also be observed in most of her social media posts.
Winning in a Pageant is not new to her
Alethea is one of the queens training under the Aces and Queens. She was crowned as the Reyna ng Singkaban-Turismo 2023 as part of the celebration of Bulacan's Singkaban Festival.
