LTO suspends license of motorist who allegedly pushed ice cream vendor while on the road

A motorcycle rider caught on video allegedly pushing an ice cream vendor while on the road is facing possible sanctions from the Land Transportation Office.

In a statement, the agency has issued a show cause order against the rider over the incident, which took place along Goa Road in Camarines Sur on Oct. 10, 2026.

A video circulating on Facebook showed the rider carrying a passenger while traveling on a public road. As they approached the ice cream vendor, who was traveling in the same lane, the rider overtook and pushed the vendor, causing the latter to fall and sustain injuries.

The LTO also noted that neither the rider nor the passenger was wearing a helmet.

In response, Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao has ordered the immediate investigation of the incident and tasked local authorities with identifying the rider involved and the motorcycle's registered owner.

The LTO reminded all motorists to exercise discipline and respect for others on every trip. They also encouraged the public to report similar incidents to them so the appropriate offices can promptly address and investigate them.
