Froyo store Red Mango announces temporary closure in the Philippines
It's a sad day for yogurt fans as Red Mango Philippines temporarily closes its branches due to supply issues.
On Facebook, the international yogurt brand said that they've run out of froyo, therefore, they will be closing their stores for a while.
"We’re so sorry and sad to be temporarily closing our doors to you, froyo lovers," they wrote on May 18.
It’s unclear the exact date the stores will reopen, however, Red Mango said they are working to restock soon.
"We hope for your patience and understanding as we work on restocking as soon as possible. We promise to be back with better news soon!"
Last year, several local food brands had to stop operations after experiencing a shortage in supply.
Mary Grace Cafe had to stop making Mary Grace Ensaymadas amid an issue with their "best, high-quality ingredients."
Donut shop Randy's Donuts had to stop temporarily as they wait for more batches of flour from Los Angeles.
Even fast food chains like McDonald's and Shakey's were affected due to a global potato supply shortage.
While the reason behind Red Mango's ingredient shortage is unclear, it was noted by news outlets that the war between Ukraine and Russia and the ongoing global pendemic may have been a factor for some of the shortages.
