Here's why you cannot order McDonald's large and BFF fries—for now

Fast food chain McDonald's Philippines just announced that there is a shortage in supply of their World Famous Fries due to the recent global shipping crisis.

"The supply of our World Famous Fries is limited because of the global freight crisis. That's why you haven't been seeing our fries in big red fry boxes (medium, large, and BFF) in the stores," it wrote on Facebook.

However, the fast food chain assured the public that the fries are still available in regular sizes.

“But don’t worry! all stores will still continue to serve regular fries for your enjoyment! We are working hard to bring back all sizes to you very soon,” they added.

Since 2021, other countries such as Japan,Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and South Korea are also experiencing potato shortage.

The Washington Post reported early this year that the growing potato shortage worldwide can be a result of a number of factors, including the COVID-19 pandemic and ”bad weather, blights, or labor disputes.”
