Ex-PBB housemate and transman Jesi Corcuera on having top surgery: 'Yan and simbolo ng aking kalayaan'
Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and proud transgender man Jesi Corcuera has revealed that he has undergone top surgery on his way to becoming his most authentic self.
Top surgery is when breast tissue and excess skin are removed from the chest to reflect a flat, or masculine-appearing, chest. It is a common part of gender reassignment.
Taking to Instagram to announce his new step, Jesi shared that the decision was not just for aesthetic reasons, as it was ultimately a symbol of his freedom.
"Maaring hindi niyo maintindihan ang sayang aking nararamdaman. Pero sa likod ng mga hiwa sa ilalim ng aking dibdib yan ang simbolo ng aking kalayaan," Jesi wrote. "Kalayaan sa mapanghusgang lipunan. Para sa mga tulad kong parte ng makulay na bahaghari wag kayong titigil makamit ang inyong kalayaan at kasiyahan."
He shared the news alongside a photo of himself smiling widely with his surgery scars.
He went on to thank his family, partner, and doctors for showing support through his journey.
Jesi joined PBB back in 2016 as a housemate during its 'Lucky Season 7', where he had the moniker of 'Transman of the House ng Cavite.'
He is now a YouTube vlogger with almost 270,000 subscribers. He regularly shares life updates, challenges, and games with his partner, Camille Corcuera.
