Another activity to add to your Japan bucket list!
Tourists and locals alike will never run out of theme parks to enjoy and visit in the "Land of the Rising Sun." Just in Tokyo, there's Disneyland, Sanrio Puroland, Joypolis, and Legoland while in other regions are the must-see Universal Studios Japan and Ghibli Park.
A new kind of amusement park is set to open in Japan in March in Odaiba called the Immersive Fort Tokyo, which claims to be the "world's first" immersive theme park.
Inspired by the interactive shows in London, the upcoming indoor theme park will be fully immersive, giving visitors roles in the stories that unfold in its 12 attractions.
The attractions come in different themes and most of them are murder mysteries and escape rooms where you get to solve riddles and puzzles as you go around the park.
Some of the unveiled themes include "The Sherlock - Baker Street Murder Case" where you get to channel your inner detective; "Tokyo Revengers," an anime-themed escape room where you must solve puzzles as you're caught up between two gangs; "Oshi no Ko," an idol-themed room wherein you must help the idols make their show successful; and a "Jack the Ripper" horror maze where you will try to escape before the notorious serial killer catches you.
The theme park's area is about 30,000 sqm and will feature six stores and restaurants inside its European-style interior.
According to a report from Timeout, a day pass to the Immersive Fort Tokyo will cost about ¥6,800 (~P2,600) and ¥3,000 for children (~P1,100) and this already gives you access to nine out of the 12 attractions. Its website has yet to reveal ticket prices.
