SB19, 4th Impact lead PPOP Awards 2022. Here are other big winners in TV, radio, public service
In case you missed it, SB19 and 4th Impact were the big winners of this year's PPOP Awards held last Nov. 30 at the Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium.
SB19—Ken, Justin, Stell, Pablo, and Josh—took home Pop Boy Group of the Year and PPOP Icon of the Year.
Stell was also hailed as the Pop Main Vocalist of the Year, while Justin was the Pop Main Visual of the Year.
Their latest hit WYAT won PPOP Song of the Year, under the global theme category.
A'TIN, the quintet's legion of supporters, was named PPOP Fandom of the Year.
4th Impact—comprising the Cercado sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina—meanwhile emerged as the Pop Girl Group of the Year.
Almira was crowned the Pop Main Vocalist of the Year, while Celina as the Pop Main Rapper of the Year.
MM and MJ Magno, the duo known as MMJ who was part of the group XLR8 that rose to fame in 2010, performed the event's theme song alongside the Muntinlupa Yaman ng Kalinangan Dance Company.
The PPOP Awards 2022 also saw live performances from 1st.One, BINI, Calista, DIONE, MNL48, Press Hit Play, and Z1ON, as well as soloists Anna Park, Hazel Faith, and Jace Roque.
Caleb Santos, RD Reyes and Athalia Badere also had special appearances.
Founded in 2016, the PPOP Awards aim to recognize young Filipino artists who made a mark in the fields of music, arts, and culture. It's in accordance with Proclamation 1173 series of 1973, which designates the last week of November as the annual National Music Week for Young Artists.
This year's awards have the theme “POPasikatin Natin ang Sariling Atin."
