TRENDING: Arman Salon's funeral skit mistook for real-life incident as video goes viral
TikTok sensation Arman Salon trended online after an international account on X mistook his skit for a real-life incident.
A video shared by @LordBebo on X depicted Arman Salon pretending to be dead in a coffin, scaring viewers with his eyes suddenly opening and closing.
"Crazy, during a funeral a woman opened her eyes," the account, which claims to be an "anti-woke, anti-fake news" page, wrote. "Technically this rarely can happen with a dead body and Embalmers usually sew or glue the eyelids shut precisely for this reason, to avoid false alarms. But I’m not sure if in this case she actually is alive. Imagine seeing your mother like that. Insane."
However, the post came with a community note that said, "Misleading. This is Arman Salon a Tiktok star from the Philippines. The clip is only for a specific skit," along with a link to Arman's TikTok account.
The reposted video now has 16.7 million views, 15,000 likes, 4.1 reposts, and 7,400 shares. Social media users were divided in their reactions, with some expressing shock and disbelief while others said it was fake.
"I would['ve] passed out and sh*t myself," said one user.
"Opening her eyes is one thing, moving her pupils is another. She ain't dead," replied one more.
"That's a fake, they stitch the eyes shut specifically to prevent this from happening," one user explained.
"Eyes wouldn’t do that to that extreme. She’s very much alive," another one said.
Arman, a Rizal-based hairstylist, recently captured the internet's attention with his dramatic performances he posts on TikTok.
In an interview with Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho last Nov. 17, he shared that he has always wanted to be an actor.
"Gusto ko mag-artista kahit 'yung mahagip lang ng camera," he said. "Kahit na snatcher ako, kundi naman 'yung tsismosa. Masaya na ako."
He said he would entertain his close customers by spontaneously acting out dramatic scenarios. He eventually started sharing his skits online, gaining a loyal fanbase who sent him gifts and money.
Since then, he has also collaborated with local actors like Nadine Lustre, Romnick Sarmienta, and Barbie Forteza.
He also auditioned for Cinemalaya and even made an appearance during the Isang Himala Grand Launch last Dec. 4.
