Julia Montes hopes to work with Kathryn Bernardo again: 'Isa 'yun sa mga pinapangarap naming magawa'

Julia Montes expressed her interest in sharing a project with her "OG love team" Kathryn Bernardo again.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz on his YouTube vlog, the Kapamilya actress looked back on her close friendship with Kathryn, who she had worked with in various television shows and commercials in the past.

Asked by Ogie on whether she feels happy for the actress' prosperous career in showbiz, Julia said, "Syempre po. Sabi ko nga, kung may unang magiging proud, isa na ako siguro doon."

Julia highlighted that their relationship over the years has strengthened into something more than just friends, they're like sisters.

"Para akong ate by heart. May mga past scenarios kami na nandun pa ako lagi sa bahay niya. It's as if talagang kapatid niya ako. Ganun niya ako tinuring," she said.

"Masasabi ko 'yung friendship namin, hindi siya basta-basta showbiz friendships lang. And bond namin is special. Parang ang tawag nga namin, kami ang original love team," she added.

Over the years, however, Kathryn grew more successful as an actress, having recently starred in the dark comedy film A Very Good Girl with veteran actress Dolly De Leon.

Despite this, Julia stressed that rivalry is nonexistent between them and that her good friend never made her feel that she was superior.

"Even with Kath, kung alam niyo lang kung paano makipag-usap sa'kin si Kath off-cam. Hindi ko nafe-feel na superstar siya at hindi niya pinapa-feel sa'kin 'yun," Julia shared.

She continued, "Doon pa lang klaro 'yung friendship. And never naming pinag-usapan 'yung work. 'Yun 'yung kinaganda sa relationship naming dalawa."

The pair were in various television shows, such as Goin' Bulilit, Mara Clara, and Growing Up. They were also tapped to star in their very first movie together, Way Back Home, in 2011, which also served as their last project together.

But will there be more in the future?

Julia hopes so, "Isa lang rin sa pangarap namin kapag nag-uusap kami, sana time will come na makagawa kami ulit. I don't know if one small series lang or teleserye ulit. Hindi namin alam, pero isa 'yun sa mga pinapangarap naming magawa."

Julia recently starred in the romantic-drama film, Five Break-Ups and a Romance, with Alden Richards. Read our review of the film here.
