Lapillus announces 'Lapis' as their official fandom name
MLD Entertainment's next-gen girl group Lapillus has announced its official fandom name — and it's a familiar one for Filipinos.
The six-member group took to Twitter to announce that starting now, the name for their diehard fans will be "lapis."
"Wuzuup Lapis! You are now officially Lapillus’s Lapis!" they wrote on the platform along with new group selfies.
"Do you like it? Hmm ginusto nyo yan haha. A gem meets another gem and shine brighter together! Love it~!" they added.

In a separate tweet, they shared that Lapis means "when a beautiful meets another beautiful gem it can shine brighter. Just like how Lapis and Lapillus meet together we can shine brighter."
The term has long been a suggestion from fans, as it also serves as a reference to one of their members, Filipina actress Chanty (Chantal Videla).
Chanty was a Star Magic Circle Batch 2018 talent and has been trained under MLD Entertainment, the agency home to Korean musical acts such as Momoland, T1419, and soloist Heo Chanmi.
Aside from Chanty, Lapillus is comprised of Seowon, Yue, Shana, Bessie, and Haeun.
Meanwhile, the girl group released their first mini album 'GIRL's ROUND Part. 1' last Sept. 22 along with the hit dance track Gratata.
