Ai-Ai Delas Alas confirms she had Gerald Sibayan's green card revoked
Ai-Ai Delas Alas confirmed that she had her estranged husband Gerald Sibayan's green card revoked.
"May mga nagtatanong pa din kung totoo ito," the comedienne said in a Facebook post on March 30, sharing a screenshot of an art card about the report. "Opo, totoo ito. Salamat sa mga sumuporta."
The actress said God has been her "constant source of strength and comfort" through "the darkest moments" and when she "felt abandoned and alone."
"His grace has helped me cope with the pain, giving me the courage to keep going, one day at a time," she said.
She also thanked her son and her friends for sticking with her.
A green card is a document indicating that an individual has permanent residency in the United States. Without it, one cannot live and work in the country.
Entertainment outlet PEP.ph exclusively reported that Sibayan's green card was "automatically revoked" after the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, in a March 17, 2025, decision, approved Delas Alas to revoke her petition for alien relative for Sibayan on Jan. 8, 2025.
Delas Alas filed the petition on July 15, 2021.
In revoking her petition, Delas Alas cited a "third party" in their relationship.
The USCIA's decision is final and Sibayan cannot appeal unless Delas Alas files a motion to reopen or reconsider the case.
She's also seeking a divorce from Sibayan, according to PEP.ph.
'Wrong decision'
In a recent guest appearance on BB Gandanghari's talk show, Delas Alas said that looking back, it was a "wrong decision" to marry Sibayan.
Gandanghari asked her about certain misconceptions that she's a good mother but is a fool when it comes to love.
"Hindi ako tanga. Nagkataon lang na napupunta ako sa hindi tamang tao para sa akin. Kasi kung tanga ako, hindi kami aabot ng ten years," she said, pertaining to her marriage with Sibayan.
“Nagkataon lang siguro na hanggang dun lang and meron pala siyang ibang agenda, o meron pala siyang iba na nagustuhan, o may iba pala siyang gusto sa akin," she added.
Gandanghari then clarified if Delas Alas made a mistake, to which she answered in the affirmative.
“Kumbaga, una, pinanindigan ko na lang, and parang gusto kong ipakita sa buong mundo na age doesn’t matter," she said. "But it matters."
Delas Alas and Sibayan, who have a 30-year age gap, got married in 2017 after three years of dating. He was her third husband after Miguel Vera and Jed Salang.
They renewed their wedding vows in the United States in December 2022.
In November 2024, Delas Alas, on GMA Network's Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, confirmed that she and Sibayan broke up in October of that year. She recalled him sending her a chat from the United States about being unhappy and wanting to have a child with her. It was past midnight in the Philippines when she got the message. They haven't talked to each other since then.
At the time, she told Abunda that she wouldn't have Sibayan's green card revoked despite their breakup.
In a January Fast Talk episode, she said she refuses to be on talking terms with Sibayan.
Later that month, she threw shade at a "cheater" and "mistress."
Without naming anyone, Delas Alas gave a supposed timeline of events at two Filipino establishments in California.
In March 2024, she said a woman was putting her head on the shoulder of a man at a restaurant, without specifying the branch. In June, they were supposedly spotted holding hands together near Jollibee, noting it was near the city of Fremont. The incident, she noted, also happened near her house in San Francisco.
