Ai-Ai Delas Alas not speaking with Gerald Sibayan since announcing split: 'Of course, no. I refuse to'
Ai-Ai Delas Alas said she hasn't spoken to her husband Gerald Sibayan since announcing in November 2024 that they had split in October of that year.
In an interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, Delas Alas was asked if she and Sibayan are on talking terms, and she answered, “Of course, no. I refuse to."
“From the time na sinabi niya ‘yun sa ’kin, hindi na ako nakipag-communicate sa kaniya," she said of Sibayan initiating the breakup.
Nevertheless, the 60-year-old actress said she communicates with Sibayan indirectly through the likes of her son-in-law.
She also reflected on the aftermath of their split, though didn't say whether they're legally ending their marriage.
Citing her marriage with her second ex-husband Jed Salang, Delas Alas said she became the talk of the town.
“Lumaban ako kasi masakit," she said. "Pero ngayon, hindi pala kailangan na ang laban, kailangang maingay."
"Pwede naman palang mahinahon na lang. Tatanggapin mo na lang and you’ll have a graceful exit," she added.
Sibayan is her third husband after Miguel Vera and Salang.
Delas Alas and Sibayan, who have a 30-year age gap, got married in 2017 after three years of dating.
They renewed their wedding vows in the United States in December 2022.
Discussing her split with Sibayan in a Fast Talk episode, Delas Alas recalled him sending her a chat from the United States about being unhappy and wanting to have a child with her. It was past midnight in the Philippines when she got the message.
They haven't talked to each other since then.
As to whether there's a third party involved in their split, Delas Alas believes so, noting that Sibayan cheated on her in 2019.
