Rufa Mae Quinto's husband Trevor Magallanes confirmed that he and the actress are in the process of ending their eight-year marriage.

Magallanes announced the news on his Instagram stories on Friday, Dec. 13.

"I felt like I need to explain myself based on social media and all that. I want to make myself clear that Rufa Mae and I are in the process of a divorce," the financial analyst began.

He opened up about how his marriage "has been a sh*t show."

"You may be aware divorce can be very devastating to the children and also the parents. That being said, my marriage has been a s---t show and I am sorry for that. All that matters [to] me at this time is getting through the divorce as best as I can and spending time with Athena," he added.

Split speculations between the two were fueled last weekend, when Magallanes posted screenshots of his alleged conversations with Quinto on Instagram, where they are seen having a heated argument.

While Quinto has yet to comment on the matter, she recently posted some pictures of her glammed up self on her Instagram account with the caption, "Kaya pa."

Her post also came after the news that the local star has been charged with 14 counts of violation of Securities Regulation Code’s Section 8 in relation to the issue hounding Dermacare, the same company involved in Neri Miranda’s arrest. Section 8 of the SRC states that securities "shall not be sold or offered for sale or distribution within the Philippines, without a registration statement duly filed with and approved by the Commission." Atty. Roberto Labe, who represents 39 clients who filed the cases against Miranda and others, told ABS-CBN's TV Patrol that his clients were "enticed" into putting millions of pesos into Dermacare despite its lack of license to solicit investments.

Quinto has denied allegations that she got involved in a scam, stressing that she has "no connection whatsoever to any fraudulent activity" and that she herself is "also a victim" and is "determined to seek justice."

"I will cooperate fully with the authorities and face this issue through the proper legal forum. Rest assured, I will fight for my name and reputation," she said in a statement sent to PhilSTAR L!fe.

Quinto tied the knot with Magallanes, who is based in the US, in November 2016. She gave birth to their daughter in February the following year.
