BINI included on Grammys’ ‘Rising Girl Groups To Know Now’ list
BINI continues to make waves on the global scene!
The eight-member P-pop girl group, consisting of Aiah, Sheena, Gwen, Aiah, Maloi, Jhoanna, Stacey, and Mikha, is among the 12 rising girl groups to know list curated by the Grammy Awards.
“BINI has captured Southeast Asia with EDM-driven pop production and a blend of English and Tagalog lyrics. And as the first Filipino act to enter Spotify's Top Artist Global Chart and to perform at the long-standing KCON festival, it's no surprise they've been dubbed the ‘Nation's Girl Group,’” the prestigious award-giving body wrote.
They noted that Filipino pop, or P-pop is one of the fastest-growing music markets amid the continuous rise of K-pop.
The nation’s girl group is the only Filipino act on the list. Joining them are K-pop groups 4EVE, Kiss of Life, and UNIS, and global girl groups like Citizen Queen, Blackswan, and Flo, among others.
Before this, they were given the “Voices of Asia” award alongside “Kings of P-pop" SB19 at the Billboard K POWER 100 launch held at THE SHILLA Seoul last August.
The girl group is also part of Teen Vogue’s “12 Girl Groups to Watch in 2024” list released in May.
They are set to perform at their three-day Grand BINIverse concert in November.
BINI was formed on ABS-CBN's talent search, Star Hunt Academy in 2019. They officially debuted in 2021 with Born To Win.
