Andi Eigenmann, Philmar Alipayo postpone wedding following Jaclyn Jose's death

Former actress Andi Eigenmann said her wedding with surfer Philmar Alipayo this year will be postponed following the death of her mother, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose.

“Honestly, we wanted to get married this year. But under the circumstances, we decided to wait a bit,” Andi told reporters on the sidelines of the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ Parangal ng Sining event, which honored Jaclyn, who died due to a myocardial infarction or heart attack on March 2.

The wedding, she said, was supposed to be dedicated to Jaclyn.

Andi said she’s still grieving over Jaclyn's death and is hoping to focus on the good things.

“Slowly, I hope I will get there,” she’s quoted as saying. “But I know she is proud, she loves me, and her grandchildren.”

She said Lilo and Koa, her children with Philmar, also “understand” the situation though it was “weird” since they’re “so young.”

But Andi said Ellie, her daughter with Jake Ejercito, has a “deeper understanding” and is “very strong.”

Andi got into a relationship with Philmar in 2018. They got engaged in December 2020.

In a 2023 vlog uploaded on Carla Humphries’ YouTube channel, Andi said it was Philmar who empowered her to embrace self-love.

“Honestly, I can say a lot of things obviously that are nice about him that make him a good fit for me. But at the end of the day, it’s because it’s being with him when I met him or when I built this life with him, it was when I learned to love myself the most also,” she said.

“Because the priority is yourself. It’s my life, and in order for me to be the best mom that I can be, in order for you to be your best self, you have to love that. You have to enjoy being that person. It was when I was with him. He always supports me in achieving my goals and being the best version of myself,” she added.
