Andi Eigenmann says mother Jaclyn Jose died of heart attack
Andi Eigenmann said her mother Jaclyn Jose died of a heart attack.
“I announce the untimely passing of my Nanay, Mary Jane Guck, better known as Jaclyn Jose, at the age of 60 on the morning of March 2nd, 2024, due to a myocardial infarction or heart attack,” a teary-eyed Eigenmann said in a press conference live-streamed by ABS-CBN News on the afternoon of March 4. She’s accompanied by her brother Gabby Eigenmann.
Eigenmann thanked the public for the prayers and condolences.
“Please provide us the respect and privacy to breathe,” she said. “We hope this put all speculations to rest.”
Eigenmann praised her mother for her “undeniable legacy,” which she said will “forever live on through her children and grandchildren, and the many lives she touched.”
“Her life itself was her greatest obra maestro,” Eigennman said.
Jose's acting career spanned four decades.
She won the Gawad Urian, Luna Awards, and FAMAS Awards for her work. She was also named best actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in Brilante Mendoza's Ma' Rosa.
Her agency PPL Entertainment Inc., in a Facebook post on March 4, said “more details will be shared as soon as they are available.”
