Showbiz colleagues paid tribute to veteran actress Jaclyn Jose, who passed away on the night of March 3 at 59 years old.

Jose’s longtime friend Gardo Versoza on Instagram shared a photo of them.

“Mahal na mahal kita Abe,” Verzosa said in the caption. “Masakit na paalam. Magkwewentuhan pa tayo di ba.”

He also shared a slideshow of their photos at work.

Gladys Reyes shared an excerpt of her vlog with Jose where they’re chatting and joking around.

“Ate Jane, nakakagulat naman, binigla mo kaming lahat,” Reyes said in the caption. “Ang dami nating pinagsamahan, simula 9 years old ako sa Lovingly Yours Helen hanggang dito sa huling movie natin na Apag, di ka nagbago sakin.”

“Salamat sa mga tips, pag-alaga mo sakin na parang ate kita talaga. Nabawasan na naman ng isang magaling at de kalibreng aktor ang industriya,” she added.

Dimples Romana said we “lost another true icon,” as she shared a still from the movie Minsan May Isang Puso.

“Tita Jane, I remember all the laughter, the lessons you generously taught me as a young actor back when we were shooting this movie in 2001 and for our May Minamahal remake,” Romana said. “Mahal kita at laging yayakap ng mahigpit. You will never be forgotten.”

Kylie Padilla, who worked with Jose on the teleserye Bolera, shared a photo of her placing her head on Jose’s chest.

“You will be missed,” Padilla said.

Angel Locsin on Facebook Reel shared a scene from Mano Po 5, where she starred with Jose.

“Your contribution to the Philippine entertainment industry will never be forgotten,” Locsin said in the caption.

Born Mary Jane Santa Ana Guck, Jose's acting career spanned four decades.

She won the Gawad Urian, Luna Awards, and FAMAS Awards for her work. She was also named best actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in Brilante Mendoza's Ma' Rosa.

Jose is survived by her children Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond.

Her agency PPL Entertainment Inc., in a Facebook post on March 4, said “more details will be shared as soon as they are available.”

“The Guck and Eigenmann families are requesting for everyone to please pray for the eternal repose of Miss Jaclyn Jose and for them to be allowed the respect and privacy to mourn her passing, and navigate these difficult times.”
