Paolo Contis is open to working with 'It's Showtime' hosts
Paolo Contis expressed his enthusiasm in working with the hosts of the noontime show It's Showtime, which had now replaced his now-defunct program Tahanang Pinakamasaya on GMA's noontime slot.
In an interview on 24 Oras, Paolo was asked if he was willing to appear in the ABS-CBN show if he was invited to serve as a guest.
"Oo. Work is work, and I'm very happy na mayroon silang lugar," Paolo answered.
On who he wants to collaborate the most, he highlighted, "Lahat, kaibigan ko naman sila eh. Kaibigan ko karamihan sa kanila. Si Ogie [Alcasid], si Vice [Ganda], I'm very close to Vhong [Navarro]."
"Lahat naman 'yan, very open tayo," he added.
It’s Showtime is set to become the official noontime show of GMA Network starting April 6, or about a month after Tahanang Pinakamasaya went off the air.
ABS-CBN and GMA executives held an official contract signing on March 20 at GMA's headquarters in Kamuning, with ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak describing the signing as a "historic occasion."
It's Showtime has been airing on GMA’s GTV channel since July last year.
Tahanang Pinakamasaya, formerly the noontime show Eat Bulaga, aired its final episode on March 2 and aired replays until its final day on March 8. For months, it had been in an arduous trademark case against Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon TVJ for the use of "Eat Bulaga!" and "EB."
Despite the show's closure less than a year after it premiered on June 5, 2023, Paolo stressed that he does not harbor any ill feelings toward his home network contrary to rumors that had been circulating.
"I wanna thank GMA for always supporting me, for always supporting the show. May kumalat po na may tampo ako sa GMA. Hindi po ‘yun totoo, pero pagbigyan na po natin ‘yung mga nagkakalat noon," Paolo said.
"Content po nila ‘yun, para po sa kanila ‘yun, pero it’s not true. I love GMA, and I’m very thankful to GMA. They’ve been supporting me during the time na kahit hindi ako kasupo-suporta. So walang dahilan para magtampo ako sa GMA," he added.
Apart from Paolo, other hosts of the TAPE noontime show were Isko Moreno, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, Chariz Solomon, and Mavy and Cassy Legaspi.
