What’s up, Madlang Kapuso?

ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime is now the official noontime show of GMA Network starting April 6, or about a month after Tahanang Pinakamasaya went off the air.

ABS-CBN and GMA executives held an official contract signing on March 20 at GMA's headquarters in Kamuning.

ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak described the signing as a “historic occasion.”

“We have the same objective: bringing the best stories and programs to as many Filipinos as possible," Katigbak said, adding that the upcoming It's Showtime episode would be special.

GMA President and CEO Gilberto Guavit Jr. said there's a feeling of happiness due to the gratitude and unity present in the then-rival network's collaboration.

"You bring so much joy to many people," Guavit said. "Ipagpatuloy ninyo ang magandang programa, pagandahin pa natin at lalo pang palawakin."

GMA Chairman Felipe Gozon reiterated how ABS-CBN and GMA's network war is already over.

"The contract signing confirms that... and strengthens (our) collaboration," Gozon said, adding that more collaborations between GMA and ABS-CBN should be expected soon.

It’s Showtime main host Vice Ganda thanked GMA for the opportunity.

"Di naman lingid sa kaalaman ng lahat kung gaano kasadsad ang isinadsad ng Kapamilya," she said, pertaining to the network's shutdown in May 2020. "Pero nariyan kayo di para tapakan pa at saktan pa sa mga panahong sadsad na sadsad kami."

"Inialay niyo ang kamay ninyo para unti-unti kami makabangon. Pinagbuksan niyo kami ng tahanan para muling magpalakas, maghilom," she added.

ABS-CBN and GMA have been finalizing the details of the transfer days ago.

About an hour ahead of the contract signing today, It’s Showtime hosts were seen in red and dark gray suits and dresses preparing for the “good news.”

A video from ABS-CBN News showed the hosts arriving at Kamuning in a float designed with the show’s blue shade and stars.

Before lunchtime, GMA also shared a teaser video using the It’s Showtime jingle, even as the cartoon forms of I, T, and S used in the show’s official logo were there.

It's Showtime, headed by Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Jugs Jugueta, and Jhong Hilario, among others, has been airing on GMAs GTV channel since July 2023.

Tahanang Pinakamasaya, formerly noontime show Eat Bulaga,  underwent rebranding after losing an arduous trademark case against TVJ for the use of “Eat Bulaga!” and “EB.” It aired its final episode on March 2 and aired replays until its final day on March 8.

Since then, GMA aired Filipino movies in the vacant slot.

It’s Showtime would still be airing on GTV, as well as other platforms like A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online LIVE on Facebook and YouTube, Jeepney TV, IWantTFC, and The Filipino Channel.
