Perez Hilton hospitalized after disturbing livestream

Celebrity gossip columnist Perez Hilton was rushed to the hospital following a disturbing livestream that sparked fans' concern.
According to a PEOPLE report, Miami police received multiple calls at around 6:51 p.m. on Aug. 4 EDT about Hilton's livestream, in which he appeared to self-harm.
Dispatch audio obtained by the outlet stated that police requested assistance from fire services at around 10:41 p.m. The blogger's home was described as an "active police scene," with authorities making entry shortly after.
Authorities confirmed that the blogger was alone at home. He was then rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention.
Following the incident, representatives for Hilton shared that they were aware of the incident but were not able to make direct contact with him.
"Our primary concern is Perez's health and well being, as well as the well being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further," Golden Artists Entertainment heads Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan said in a statement.
His family also issued an update on his website on Aug. 5.
"Many of you have reached out with concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers," they said in a statement.
"We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family's focus right now is on his well-being."
They then asked for privacy following the incident.
Hilton's TikTok account has since been banned and the livestream taken down.
The short-form video platform's US spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter that it quickly flagged the livestream and alerted its team to review the content. However, a "moderator error" caused a delay in taking it down.
The stream was up for 15 minutes, according to TikTok.
Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., is known for his celebrity gossip site launched in the early 2000s.
