James Reid has broken his silence about the challenges of running a talent agency, but stressed that fans had "nothing to worry about" when it comes to Liza Soberano's projects.

In his recent interview with ABS-CBN News, the singer-businessman addressed some of the issues that their record label, Careless faced following CEO Jeffrey Oh’s arrest due to alleged visa and work permit issues in late July.

“It has been rough. This year has been one of the biggest challenges so far but we are learning a lot,” he began. “But honestly, we just keep getting stronger,” he added.

While he admitted that being the owner of a talent management agency was very challenging, Reid stressed that he was "having fun" and that he found the job "very fulfilling."

James also assured fans of Liza Soberano that there was nothing to worry about, since many fans voiced their concerns following the work permit issues of James' business partner.

“When it comes to Liza, I would say she has some of the most amazing projects coming up. I think stuff that no one has seen before,” he said.

“And I just want to let all the fans know not to worry, there’s nothing to worry about. She is preparing something very special for them. So they have something to look forward to,” he stressed.

For her part, Liza revealed in a recent interview that she is currently attending film school in preparation for her goal of becoming a director.

“In life, I’m just having fun, enjoying the process because right now, I’m going to film school as well so I’ve been working on a lot of things behind the scenes lately so I’m just really excited about that,” the Lisa Frankenstein star said.

Meanwhile, the u & i singer also shut down rumors that his father, Malcolm, was involved in Oh’s arrest, where he was allegedly the one who reported to the immigration officials that Oh didn’t have any work permit to operate a business in the country.

“I was shocked. Me, my family, especially my dad. We were shocked with a lot of the rumors that were coming out,” he began.

He clarified: “Simplest way to say it is, he had nothing to do with it. It’s surprising and we can joke about it.”

“But he was upset with everything that has been happening, the misunderstandings. He was upset on my behalf,” he said. “He is very supportive of what I do, he knows the challenges that I’m facing, and he sees the vision that I have.”

On Aug. 9, immigration officials confirmed that Oh was released on bail on Aug. 4 after his arrest on Jul. 28. They added that he will continue to face deportation proceedings.

Aside from managing the record label Careless with James Reid, the Korean-American entrepreneur also owns several restaurants and bars in Poblacion.

Careless is a record label founded by Reid and Bret Jackson in 2017. Its roster of artists includes Liza Soberano and most recently, Issa Pressman
