Breaking records? It sounds like Taylor Swift's thing to do!

The multi-awarded singer-songwriter has set a new record by being the most-awarded artist in the MTV Video Music Awards history.

This came after she won seven times at this year's VMAs, which took place at New York's UBS Arena. She won the Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Editing, and Song of the Summer for Fortnight feat. Post Malone, Best Pop and Artist of the Year, bringing her a total of 30 wins.

Her historic milestone also means that she surpassed Beyonce's solo artist record of 26 wins.

The All Too Well singer likewise beat her own record after bagging the Video of the Year award, making her the only artist to win the award three years in a row.

In her acceptance speech, Taylor thanked her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, for his unwavering support to the Fortnight music video.

"Something that I’ll always remember is that when I would finish a take, and I’d say cut, and we’d be done with that take, I would always just hear someone like cheering from across the studio where we were shooting it, and that, that one person was my boyfriend, Travis,” she said. “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that.”

Meanwhile, Post also gave his acceptance speech for Fortnight, saying Taylor is “one of the most kind and talented people I’ve ever had the honor of knowing.”

He continued, “Just the amount of work and care and love that she puts into everything she does from the music video to every—I watched her tied up to the operating table thing in the music video, and she was just directing the music video from there, and it was pretty badass. I just wanted to say thank you so very much for listening, and thank you so very much, Taylor, and I love you very much.

Post Malone and Taylor Swift accept the Best Collaboration award for Fortnight

At this year's VMA, Taylor received 12 nominations. She attended the red carpet event wearing an edgy plaid corset with train and high-waisted velvet shorts from Dior.

The outfit was accentuated with Stuart Weitzman thigh-high leather boots, leather gloves, and Lorraine Schwartz 30-carat yellow diamond and black jade earrings.

In April, Taylor released the official music video for Fortnight, one of the songs on her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.

In the music video, the musicians portray lovers in the black-and-white video. It starts with Taylor wearing a wedding dress at a mental asylum. She enters another room filled with typewriters as her dress changes.

It later shows the pair in bizarre situations, including them facing each other with pieces of paper around them and carrying out a series of tests in a laboratory. They are also seen sharing sweet nothings in between.

In an Instagram post, Taylor said she "wanted to show you the worlds I saw in my head that served as the backdrop for making this music."

"Pretty much everything in it is a metaphor or a reference to one corner of the album or another," she said, adding that the video "turned out to be the perfect visual representation of this record and the stories I tell in it."

Taylor also praised Post Malone, who blew her away on set as "our tortured tragic hero." She added, "I'm so grateful to him for everything he put into this collaboration."

Fortnight is Taylor's first single from The Tortured Poets Department, her 11th album following Midnights (2022), Evermore (2020), Folklore (2020), and Lover (2019), as well as her four re-recorded albums 1989 (Taylor's Version), Speak Now (Taylor's Version), Red (Taylor's Version), and Fearless (Taylor's Version).
