Kris Aquino says she's still not fit to work: 'I’m very underweight at 37 kilos/82 pounds'

Published Feb 22, 2025 3:18 pm

Kris Aquino gave an update on her health and love life in a new Instagram post.

On Saturday, Feb. 22, the "Queen of All Media" shared a photo of her with her son Bimb, showbiz friends like Kim Chiu, Miles Ocampo, and Darla as well as her doctors, who recently paid her a visit in her home.

"I haven’t posted anything because I didn't want all those praying for me to feel sad and lose the faith," she began.

She then said she won't return to work anytime soon. "May I clarify? I’m not yet 'fit to work' because I'm very underweight at 37 kilos/82 pounds," she said. "My deal with my team of doctors is that my WBC (white blood cells) doesn’t fall below 5.5 for 4 straight weeks, my hemoglobin improves to at least a 9.5 (my anemia is both hereditary & nutritional), and my weight holds steady at 90 pounds/40.8 kilos."

She talked about her diagnosed autoimmune diseases and shared that she's also dealing with fibromyalgia, which triggers pain and tenderness throughout the body; polymyositis, an inflammatory disease that leads to muscle weakness; and mixed connective tissue disease, which combines disorders such as lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis.

"Having complicated autoimmune diseases and being allergic to all NSAIDS, steroids, pain relievers, as well as antibiotics and Immunoglobulin Therapy, many times the physical pain is overwhelming," she opened up.

Kris also shared that she's been single "for some time now." She added, "No boyfriend, so clearly no fiancé. I never gave details while we were a couple so it makes no sense to elaborate now." (She bared she had a boyfriend who is a doctor in June without getting into detail.)

"Thank you for your love and concern," she concluded.

Kris returned to the Philippines in September 2024 after spending two years in the United States for medical tests and procedures.

In October, Kris teased that she has an upcoming show in the works that will allow viewers to "see the reality of Kris, Bimb, and my 'through the years' best friends (my extended family) and definitely my team of doctors who are now among my most trusted friends."

Earlier this February, her close friend Dindo Balares shared that she was "back working."

"Sinubukan niya the other day," he said.

"But we all realized—one day of work means three days of bed rest," Dindo quoted Kris as saying.
