SEVENTEEN's Wonwoo to enlist in the military in April

Published Mar 05, 2025 1:48 pm

SEVENTEEN’s Wonwoo is set to begin his military service on April 3.

His agency Pledis Entertainment announced his enlistment date on Wednesday, March 5, saying that the K-pop idol will no longer be able to join the upcoming Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025 festival and the fan meeting in Japan in April.

However, he will still perform at the “SEVENTEEN in CARAT LAND” concert from March 20 to 21 and appear in various pre-recorded content.

“There will be no official event on the day of his enlistment, and we kindly request that you refrain from visiting the site of his alternative military service,” the agency said in the statement, per Soompi report. Fans are encouraged instead to send their messages of support for Wonwoo through the Weverse platform.

“We ask for your continued love and support for the artist until his safe and healthy return. We will also stay committed to providing Wonwoo with all the necessary support during this time,” it concluded.

Wonwoo is the second member to enlist in the mandatory military service following Jeonghan in September 2024.

The group’s leader, S.coups, will be exempted from military service after sustaining a knee injury in 2023. He underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery and anterolateral ligament reconstruction surgery. After his physical rehabilitation therapy, he is now back to joining group activities.

Wonwoo debuted in the K-pop scene in 2015 as part of the boy group SEVENTEEN alongside other members, Vernon, Hoshi, DK, Seungkwan, Mingyu, The8, Dino, Joshua, S.Coups, Woozi, Junhui, and Jeonghan.

He recently released a collaboration single album with Jeonghan in 2024 dubbed This Man with songs Last night, Beautiful Monster, and Leftover.
