Kris Aquino reveals why she ended relationship with Mark Leviste
Kris Aquino gave more reasons why she decided to part ways with Mark Leviste, going beyond what she initially said about the challenges that come with being in a long-distance relationship.
In an Instagram post on Monday, July 17, the multimedia personality admitted that she gave the public a “cleansed version” of the reason behind their breakup.
“I didn’t lie when I said a long distance relationship is difficult,” she began. “But I saw he has many dreams left to fulfill and many obligations to the people who gave him their vote. Sadly, I’m in the battle of my life precisely because my 2 sons still need me.”
Mark had been traveling to and from the Philippines and the United States to fulfill his duties as the vice governor of Batangas and Kris’ partner. The “Queen of All Media,” meanwhile, has been undergoing treatment in the US for her five autoimmune diseases since June 2022.
“I’m realistic enough that Marc has a life beyond trying to help take care of me. I apologize for seeming selfish but why will I add stress in my life when I see his posts enjoying himself when I am suffering 8,000 miles away?” she wrote, adding that the ending “would still be the same” if they “had tried to stay together as a couple.”
She also shared that she saw and felt that he wasn’t ready for a serious relationship just yet. “Kaya minabuti ko nang sa akin nang manggaling kasi nakita at naramdaman kong hindi siya handa sa responsibilidad ng seryosong relasyon kasama ang isang babae na tinatanggap ang realidad na yung buhay nya ngayon ay pinahiram na oras lamang ng Diyos.”
Kris stressed that they both deserve a life filled with peace after all.
“I’m keeping my word that he will never read nor hear me saying anything negative about him because what for? We’re not enemies, we just weren’t meant for each other,” she concluded.
Mark kept his reply short and simple in the comment section of her post: “Love, love, love you-all.”
Kris confirmed her past relationship and split with Mark on July 10, saying that she had to put it on pause due to her current situation abroad. “With my condition the way it is now, I’m self-aware enough to know that a long-distance relationship will be next to impossible for us to maintain,” she explained in a now-deleted Instagram post.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the politician for being by her side, especially when she was away from her sons Josh and Bimb. “But our reality is that there’s a Pacific Ocean that divides us, a 15-hour time difference, and a 13-hour flight,” she said, adding that he will always have a place in her heart.
Kris and Mark sparked dating rumors in January this year, after the politician posted about welcoming 2023 with her in the United States. He fondly called her the “Queen” in their Instagram snaps, where he can be seen enjoying a meal with Kris and bonding with her children.
