The love is still going strong between Sharon Cuneta and Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan as they recently marked their 28th wedding anniversary together.

On their Instagram accounts, the pair took the time to pen some heartwarming messages to each other in celebration of nearly 30 decades as husband and wife.

"Happy 28th wedding anniversary to my 'Sutart,' 'neybor,' 'playmate,' number one fan, cheerleader—the best dad to our children and the best husband!" Sharon wrote on Instagram, referring to their three children Frankie, Miel, and Miguel.

Despite their strong bond, the Megastar couldn't help but mention the rift they previously experienced in their marriage.

"Though we’ve experienced some ‘turbulence’ in our marriage, and it hasn’t always been easy being married to each other, we both know that we are always worth fighting for," Sharon highlighted.

"Thank you for loving me, loving us the way you do. I love you so very much!" she ended.

While she didn't elaborate on the issue, the actress seemed to be referring to the brief split they had late last year, which she bared in an Instagram video in January.

In it, Sharon talked about her cryptic "hugot" quotes about protecting her peace and loving herself that made the rounds on social media in late December. Kiko then chimed in, saying, "Sabi ko nga, lahat ng pamilya, lahat ng mag-asawa, nangyayari ang tampuhan."

Cuneta then cut him off, saying, "Nag-away kami, naghiwalay kami, tapos nagbati na kami, so okay na kami. Okay?"

For his anniversary message to Sharon, Kiko regarded their 28 years of marriage as "a testament that God is a faithful, miraculous, healing, and loving God."

"I will protect you fiercely, fight for you with all my might, shield you from harm’s way, cheer you on, care for you tenderly, honor you unfailingly and love you deeply and with all my heart now and for always," he wrote.

In another post, the former senator posted a video compilation of their sweet moments together from when they were young up to their recent years.

In the caption, he also shared a line from Queen of Tears lead character Baek Hyun Woo, saying: "I'm just a lucky man who married the love of my life."

The power couple's youngest daughter, Miel, also had some heartfelt words to share to mark her parents' anniversary. In her Instagram post, Miel opened up about how Sharon and Kiko showed her what it means to love someone "patiently and perseveringly and unconditionally."

"In turn, my siblings and I have grown into individuals with so much love to give that it seeps from us without even trying," she wrote. "In a world filled with so much hatred and resentment, thank you for showing me that love always prevails. thank you for teaching me how to love, and what it feels like to have it reciprocated.

She continued, "The invisible string that brought you two together, some 28 years ago has spun new threads around my siblings and I, and will continue to spin until the time comes that I get to have my own kids and raise them with the same love you did me."

Sharon met Kiko at her brother’s wedding in 1994. They went on a series of dates together and got married in 1996.

The "Megastar" previously married Gabby in 1984. They welcomed their daughter KC Concepcion a year later, but got legally separated in 1987. Their marriage was annulled in 1993.
