Sharon Cuneta bares brief split with Kiko Pangilinan: 'Nag-away kami, naghiwalay kami, tapos nagbati na kami'
Sharon Cuneta revealed that she and her husband, former senator Kiko Pangilinan, had a fight that led to a split but noted that they have patched things up.
In a video posted on her Instagram page on Jan. 1, the Megastar can be seen in a hotel room with Pangilinan and their kids Frankie, Miel, and Miguel as they wished the public a Happy New Year.
Cuneta then apologized to anyone who, she said, she hurt and may have hurt. She then talked about her cryptic “hugot” quotes about protecting her peace and loving herself that made the rounds on social media in late December.
“Every post I made was just to show you when I was sad,” she explained, “and then of course, for anyone else, that’s normal.”
Cuneta noted that after the sadness, “we fix some things and then we become happy.”
She wondered why some people are “mean” even though she and her family are doing “okay.”
“And for the record, ain’t nothing wrong with… our brains,” she said, adding they’re “good” and “normal” though they have emotions as “real people.”
Pangilinan then chimed in, saying, “Sabi ko nga, lahat ng pamilya, lahat ng mag-asawa, nangyayari ang tampuhan.”
Cuneta then cut him off, saying, “Nag-away kami, naghiwalay kami, tapos nagbati na kami, so okay na kami. Okay?”
“That’s the meaning of all the messages I posted,” she added. She, however, clarified that her other posts were for people who, she said, are close to her and who she thinks needed them.
Earlier in the video, Cuneta also gave a shoutout to her daughter KC Concepcion, who didn’t spend Christmas with her for the first time. KC spent the holidays with her dad Gabby Concepcion instead.
“Wherever you are, KC,” Cuneta said as Pangilinan and their kids told KC they love her, “we remember you. We miss you, Kristina. I love you and see you.”
She also highlighted her eldest daughter's “brand of beauty” alongside her other children.
Cuneta met Pangilinan at her brother’s wedding in 1994. They went on a series of dates together and got married in 1996.
She previously married Gabby in 1984. They welcomed KC a year later but got legally separated in 1987. Their marriage was annulled in 1993.
