Heart Evangelista on reconciling with Marian Rivera: 'Pareho kaming nag-mature'
Heart Evangelista talked more about her reconciliation with Marian Rivera, sharing that their maturity helped them to reconnect again.
The actress-fashion style icon said she was happy, talking about her photo with Marian at the GMA Gala 2024 which made rounds on social media.
“I'm sure pati ikaw natutuwa. Yun naman din,” she told PEP.ph during her contract signing with GMA Network.
"It just takes time. Pareho kaming nag-mature, we went through life,” she continued.
"Actually, usually ganoon naman yung conflict, e. You're just very alike, di ba? So minsan, pati yung mga nanonood, sila din yung mga umeeme,” she added. "But, I'm so happy we're okay."
News about their reconciliation started in October when they started following each other on Instagram. Their interaction at the GMA Gala marks the second time they were spotted engaging with each other at a public event. This follows their moment at GMA executive Atty. Felipe Gozon's 84th birthday celebration in December 2023, where they were seen greeting and hugging each other.
In the same month, Marian opened up about their reconciliation. Without getting into details, she stressed that her heart is happy to be able to reconnect with the Senate Spouses Foundation president again.
“Kung i-elaborate ko pa, siguro sa amin na lang kasi nangyari ito sa hindi inaasahan ding pagkakataon. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na naging maayos kami, nakapag-usap kami, so ‘yung parang intensyon namin parehas ay very pure,” she said during her guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, adding that she’s open to working with Heart.
She previously shared that she and Heart have been maintaining contact since they decided to end their rift, but opted to keep what they've talked about private.
Heart also opened up about her rekindled friendship, saying "real queens support each other."
"She has a very strong character but I really appreciate her kindness and just her heart," Heart said.
She continued, "Sometimes, it's not the person who is our real enemy, it's the people around that make it worse. So I'm happy. I think for me what's important, in the real world, we're okay."
Marian and Heart last worked together in the 2011 comedy film Temptation Island with Rufa Mae Quinto, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff. It was in this year that rumors of a rift between them started circulating, brought about by how the two of them expressed interest in getting paired with each other's partners at the time, with Heart previously dating Daniel Matsunaga, and Marian with her now-husband Dingdong Dantes.
