Kris Aquino shares message to Dr. Mike Padlan after recent medical procedure: 'We shall both have peace in our hearts'
Kris Aquino shared a message to her ex-boyfriend Dr. Mike Padlan after he dropped by for her recent medical procedure.
The "Queen of All Media" shared on Instagram that she had undergone a PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line change at the Makati Medical Center.
"I thought I was still dreaming, unsure about who I saw when Dr. Cricket, my anesthesiologist, was waking me up. But he was there. We didn't get to speak, Thank you, Dr. Mike Padlan; I was told I was sedated when you entered the OR," she wrote.
"I am sad that you declined to remain as [one] of my lead physicians but I do understand what you meant when you said to 'let me go'—mahirap talaga kapag magkaibang mundo ang pinanggalingan at nakasanayan."
Aquino then shared a message to her former partner.
"In time, I still hope your anger will lessen and we shall both have peace in our hearts. I'm almost there because I appreciate all I have [and] everyone who pray[s] for me [and] makes the effort to express their concern and compassion," the former TV host continued.
Her recent post also included an apology to Padlan from showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz over his opinion that "Doc Mike found offensive."
Aquino and Padlan's relationship
Aquino first revealed that she had a boyfriend who's a doctor in June 2024 and said she would keep things private until they got married. In February 2025, she said she's been single "for some time now."
On March 16, she opened up about their breakup and wrote about how Padlan "did not love" her.
"The doctor I loved left me because he wanted the freedom to travel, to break free from needing to care for and the reality of Kris Aquino who had multiplying autoimmune diseases [with] so few treatment options," she said previously.
Padlan's son, Miguel, came to the doctor's defense, saying that his father "cared deeply" for Aquino.
"Sometimes, two people are simply not meant to be together in the long run, no matter how much they once loved each other."
Miguel also lamented when he and his sibling "often felt neglected" during Aquino and Padlan's relationship as their father was traveling to the US to be with the actress.
"He gave so much of his time and energy to her, even at the cost of his own well-being. There were times when he had little to no money left and was losing patients at his clinic, yet he still chose to be with her," he continued.
On April 2, Aquino responded to Miguel's post, saying that she "did not lie" about her and Padlan's breakup. She also apologized to Padlan's family for how her post affected them.
The "Queen of All Media" also said that it was "unjust to blame" Padlan's financial problems on her.
'Not a diva patient'
In her health update, Aquino shared that she had her PICC line changed. "Contrary to what you may assume, I am not a 'diva' patient."
Earlier in the month, Aquino also shared that she's now battling nine autoimmune diseases: autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, EPGA, systemic sclerosis/scleroderma, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, polymyositis, and mixed connective tissue disease.
With this, her medical team has grown.
"Five of [my autoimmune diseases] can cause my death. That has been hard to process. But I am slowly learning to leave everything to God's will because He knows best."
