Kris Aquino on breakup with doctor boyfriend: 'He did not love me'
Kris Aquino has opened up about her breakup with the doctor she was dating in 2024.
She took to Instagram to share her latest health update, in which she said she could not walk after trying ultrasound-assisted targeted steroid shots on her knees.
"During this time of uncertainty, I choose to share my painful truth. The doctor I loved left me because he wanted the freedom to travel, to break free from needing to care for and the reality of Kris Aquino who had multiplying autoimmune diseases [with] so few treatment options," the "Queen of All Media" wrote.
"Enough time has passed: he did not love me," she added.
Kris shared that the doctor received the correct professional fees even when they were a couple.
The TV host first revealed that she had a boyfriend who's a doctor in June 2024 and said she would keep things private until they got married.
However, in February 2025, she said she's been single "for some time now."
"The truth, in his words, 'Iniwan kita dahil mahirap kang mahalin, sobrang sikip ng paligid,'" Kris said.
Her prayer now, she wrote, was that the doctor would stop "trash talking and cursing" her friends and doctors.
Health update
On news on her health, Kris shared that her rheumatologist tried ultrasound-assisted targeted steroid shots on her knees.
"My body reacted the same way I did when we tried 34 months ago the steroid challenge. Bimb is now doing MMA training and I weigh less than 80 lbs, only 36 kilos," she said, sharing photos of her 17-year-old son Bimby carrying her to the bathroom.
"I cannot walk, each step is agony. The excruciating pain is from my knees all the way to my feet, a combination of deep bone pain (lupus arthritis, Polymyositis, and acute fibromyalgia)."
In November 2024, Kris shared that she was undergoing physical therapy after her leg muscles became thin. At the time, she weighed 87 lbs.
Kris' latest post comes as she wanted to give her fans hope.
"When you are unconditionally loved, when like me you are blessed with a son who will do all to lessen his mama’s physical & emotional suffering, hindi ka susuko. Tinitiis ko 'yung matinding sakit na parte na ng bawat araw ko dahil ang pagmamahal ng anak ay walang katumbas," she said, referring to Bimby.
Kris made her first public appearance in February after she returned to the Philippines from the US.
She said she won't return to work anytime soon, adding that she's still underweight.
Kris is battling several autoimmune diseases while dealing with fibromyalgia, which triggers pain and tenderness throughout the body; polymyositis, an inflammatory disease that leads to muscle weakness; and mixed connective tissue disease, which combines disorders such as lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis.
