If you think gone are the days when people would wear rubber clogs in places besides their backyards, think again. Bringing back the trend is, wait for it, Adidas— ith its recent release of "sport-inspired" Adilette Clogs.

Launched on October 4 in the US, the adidas Adilettes set off a "slouchy-casual vibe" with its synthetic uppers and contoured EVA foam footbeds. It is inspired by the adidas Slides, and likewise, comes with the brand's iconic three-stripe insignia on the sides. The clogs come in two colors—"Core Black" and "Cloud White."

The adidas Adilettes is available in the US for $45 per pair. While the brand still hasn't confirmed its roll-out in the Philippines, its website states that a pair would cost P2,300.

Meanwhile, the Twitterverse was quick to throw shade on the footwear, noting how it looks like Crocs.

One netizen tweeted, "Adidas got me with those clogs looking like crocs [crying emojis]"

"Adidas Adilette Clogs. The quarantine baby you never knew you...never wanted," said another.

Despite some easily calling any Crocs reincarnation a fashion faux pas, there were also some who fell in love with it.

One Twitter user said, "I might die if I don’t buy these," and another enthusiast tweeted: "Take my money."

Another fan agreed, saying: "As a proud member of the Crocs family. I can't hate."
