Shoes leave a big carbon footprint (no pun intended).
Most that are in the market today are made of plastic, synthetic rubber, and other non-biodegradable materials—which we all know would eventually end up in the landfills. But in the past years, the movement towards a more sustainable fashion has grown, giving consumers more options to shop, albeit sustainably.
One brand that has joined the campaign to save the planet is adidas Originals. adidas Originals is looking forward to a "more sustainable future" and has embarked on a journey to End Plastic Waste, thus, giving birth to Stan Smith, Forever—"the next generation of more sustainable takes propelling the franchise firmly into the future."
This collection has the same look, comfort, and function that we all know and love, minus the materials that are harmful to the environment.
The first two sneakers from the adidas Stan Smith, Forever collection are made of white PRIMEGREEN uppers, high-performance recycled materials, and recycled rubber outsoles.
The women’s iteration features an all-white upper printed with doodles of colorful earth-inspired graphics, a white heel tab, and an ivory tongue graphic.
For minimalists, the second iteration features an embossed planet earth-inspired graphics, gold eyelets, and green heel tabs.
And lastly, the third iteration features a white upper that's embroidered with colorful earth-inspired doodles all over, a green heel tab, and a white recycled rubber outsole.
Which of the three do you like most?
adidas Originals Stan Smith, Forever is priced at P4,800 each and is available at adidas.com/stansmith.
