Pia Wurtzbach explains missing Carolina Herrera runway after users accuse her of faking attendance

Pia Wurtzbach dispelled rumors that she faked her attendance in the New York Fashion Week (NYFW), saying that she indeed missed Carolina Herrera's show by a few minutes.

On Instagram, the Miss Universe 2015 shared behind-the-scenes photos of her trip to NYFW. The post included some fashion show invitations she received and why she missed the Carolina Herrera show.

"I really missed #NewYork since watching my first runway show here, so it was amazing to be back. It felt great to create looks with my team again and reconnect and work with familiar faces…hello @marquis.bias! Stay tuned," she began.

According to her, she missed the Carolina Herrera show due to traffic.

"The city’s bustling energy and vibrant atmosphere were just as thrilling as ever, even if the traffic did make me late for a few shows. Felt so bad to have missed the Carolina Herrera show by a few minutes."

Because of this, the 34-year-old beauty queen-turned-author opted to repost CH's content to "make up" to their team.

"Decided to shoot the looks they sent and repost the curtain call to make it up to them. Expect more CH content coming through!"

Pia also shared an Instagram Reel of her day-to-day at NYFW, where she said she didn't want to miss any of the shows.

"Oh, we missed it," she said in the clip.

The rumors came after users on Reddit accused her of "faking" her attendance at the said show when she posted on Sept. 13 a video from the runway of the Carolina Herrera show.

Online users then accused Pia of "stealing" the video as it had been posted on the stylenotcom Instagram page.

"Pia Wurtzbach was caught pretending she was invited to Carolina Herrera's NYFW show. (She initially stole and posted an insider video to fake her presence.)," the post read.

"After being exposed, she quickly took down the stolen video but later reposted it, this time giving proper credit to its original owner," it added.

She then deleted the video and re-posted it, crediting the fashion account.

Pia recently dominated the fashion scene, including when she was named one of Bulgari's official ambassadors in June, joining Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Priyanka Chopra.

According to Vogue Philippines, the 34-year-old beauty queen will be taking on the title of "friend of the house."

In the same month, she was hailed as one of the top celebrities who earned the most media impact value (MIV) at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival after earning $8.1 million (about P475 billion) worth of MIV—a monetary value to "every post, interaction, or article to measure its impact and identify contributions to Brand Performance across Voices, channels, and regions."

In May, she was named the "Global Fashion Influencer of the Year" at Dubai's 2024 EMIGALA Fashion and Beauty Awards.

Last year, she announced that she would be coming up with a new book following the successful launch of her novel Queen of the Universe.
