Sneak peek: The first Jordan Brand store in the Philippines
Southeast Asia's first-ever Jordan Brand store is now set to open in the Philippines this December 3.
On November 30, Monday, the Jordan Brand gave the public a sneak peek during its soft opening in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The Manila flagship store features a basketball court, a customisation area, and a 4,500-square feet retail shop that will include “the largest assortment for Jordan apparel across men’s, women’s and kids in South East Asia,” said Nike Philippines.
"Basketball is more than just a sport in the Philippines, it is embedded in the culture,” Jino Ferrer, country marketing manager of Nike Philippines, said in a statement. “In the high streets of Manila or the local barangays across the country, the passion for basketball inspires and drives the communities.”
A feature of the Jordan Brand store includes a “Heritage Wall,” which is a display of Jordan brand signature shoes from AJ I to AJ XXX—including six editions worn by Michael Jordan during his championship games with the Chicago Bulls.
The store also offers its customers one-on-one styling services and "Custom 23," where they can have Jordan products customized.
Apart from “Custom 23,” there will also be a "Flight Deck" or a half-court basketball court located at the store's rooftop. The space—which has a mural designed by renowned New York City artist Kimou Meyer—“will be used for community games, events, activations, clinics, and special guest appearances.”
In celebration of the store opening, 150 pairs of the limited-edition Air Jordan Retro “Manila” will be available for sale.
