LOOK: Alexie Brooks dons Aeta-inspired dress for Miss Eco International
Alexie Brooks is ready to conquer the Miss Eco International stage.
On Instagram, the 24-year-old beauty queen shared photos of her Aeta-inspired House of Tekno creation.
"As I step closer to the Miss Eco International stage, I carry more than just a dream—I carry the stories of home," she wrote on the caption.
She added that the dress is "a celebration of tradition, craftsmanship, and the hands that shape our environment into a place we're proud to call home."
"From my humble home, I bring with me all your love and support, carrying it all the way to Egypt. The journey continues," she ended.
Previously, Alexie opened up about being bullied because of her appearance.
"I used to be afraid of showing my hair on public because people say it looks like a birds nets, or its too curly or something else," she wrote in a post, admitting that she lost confidence at one point.
The track and field national athlete continued that she is encouraging women to "be proud of what they have and who they are regardless of thier appearance and differences in life."
"For me, it's always about giving other people the power of influence. Making them feel beautiful, confident, and empowered. Make an impact and represent more than just what a naked eye can see," she continued.
In May 2024, Alexie represented Iloilo City in Miss Universe Philippines 2024, where Bulacan's Chelsea Manalo won the title.
Alexie is set to compete internationally, aiming to secure the nation's third title, a feat previously achieved by Kathleen Paton and Cynthia Thomalla. The 10th Miss Eco International competition will be held in Egypt from April 8 to 20.
