Where to get post-mastectomy bras in the Philippines

Having breast cancer affects men and women in many different ways. This life-changing event may cause stress and emotional strain—on top of the stresses of everyday life, but for some of those who had mastectomy, or the removal of breast tissue from a breast, it may change the way they look and how they feel about themselves and their body.

However, modern innovations have created products that will make them feel their best after a mastectomy, such as mastectomy bras and bra prosthesis—which create a more natural-looking shape for their chest.

Fortunately, a number of brands have made these available to our sisters who are looking for mastectomy brands. Check them out below.

Avon

Avon Empower Non-Wire Mastectomy Brasserie

Avon has long been an advocate for Breast Cancer awareness. Since the '70s, they've created several campaigns, hosted runs and walks, and donated to raise awareness.

Last year, Avon launched their post-mastectomy bras and bra prosthesis for those who just had their surgeries. The Avon Empower Non-Wire Mastectomy Brasserie is a nylon microfiber lace bra designed with cushioned strap for comfort and support.

Amoena

Amoena, known for innovative and high-quality bras, have created a selection of Breast Cancer Bras that range from camisole bras to practical every day and sports bras, compression and surgical bras, high coverage bras, and padded bras and lingerie. Price starts at P1,280.

Marks & Spencer

If you are looking for a bra that will give you maximum support (minus the pain), there's one from Marks & Spencer. Their Post Surgery Sumptuously Soft Padded Full Cup Bra, P1,950 has dual cotton pockets to discreetly hold a prosthesis.

It's made of sustainably-sourced soft fabric and doesn't have wiring, allowing it to fit naturally under a variety of clothing and provide ultimate ease in movement.

Wacoal

Looking for a bra that provides full coverage? Wacoal's Remamma Bra, P1,295 extends up to the armpit and has wide side panels and straps for better support. Its major feature, however, is its special cup pocket where you can store your prosthesis—which by the way, improves the ventilation.
