Months after scoring an ambassadorship, BTS’ rapper Suga has announced a capsule collection in collaboration with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and sporting goods company Mitchell & Ness.

“I’m so excited for the next phase of my relationship with the league with the launch of my very own NBA capsule collection,” the BTS member said in a press release.

The upcoming collection features NBA team-branded apparel such as hoodies, t-shirts, jackets, and shorts, across six teams– the Brooklyn Nets, the Chicago Bulls, the Golden State Warriors, the LA Clippers, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the New York Knicks.

The six teams were chosen based on the cities Suga performed in during his "Agust D TOUR ‘D-DAY’" world tour.

Each item from the SUGA x NBA capsule is marked with Suga’s Agust D moniker and incorporates design motifs from his D-DAY album.

“As a longtime fan of the NBA and its teams, this collection is incredibly special to me. I look forward to sharing this with all of you,” Suga said.

Suga, whose real name is Min Yoongi, has always been open about his love for basketball. His stage name is even said to be a reference to his position as the shooting guard when he played for Kangbuk High School’s basketball team.

He made waves in both the K-pop and basketball worlds. He attended games of the Los Angeles Clippers in 2021 and met with the Golden State Warriors during their practice game in Japan in 2022. He was officially named the NBA's global ambassador on April 6.

Meanwhile, BTS’ label BIGHIT MUSIC announced on Aug. 7 that Suga has officially begun preparing for his mandatory military service.
