The annual Metro Manila Pride March and Festival will take place on June 24 this year, according to its organizers.

Metro Manila Pride made the announcement on Wednesday, March 1 with a "save the date" video.

"Balang araw, magkikita-kita tayong muli. Tara na, muling magsama-sama, makinig sa isa't isa, at simulan ang diskusyon para sa ating taunang Metro Manila Pride March and Festival! Excited na kami," the group posted with rainbow and heart emojis.

The group also called for #SOGIEEqualityNow, which looks to end (through legal, educational, or other means) the discrimination of a person because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. This applies to everyone in the LGBTQ+ community, encompassing the lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and more identities in the spectrum, including cisgender and heterosexual (straight) people.

"Let’s make it happen, together!" the group said, adding that it will release more updates gradually through its social media accounts, as well as in the emails and inboxes of its audience.

Metro Manila Pride is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that "creates safe, affirming, informative, educational, and empowering spaces for LGBTQIA+ people in Metro Manila."

June marks Pride Month, during which the Metro Manila Pride March and Festival will cap off weeks of activities to educate the general public and empower those the gay community.

Last year's Metro Manila Pride celebration saw 29,000 people marching at the CCP Open Grounds.
